Säveltäjä Ann-Elise Hannikainen is a Finnish opera composed in honour of the composer Ann-Elise Hannikainen (1946–2012). Daughter of a Finnish diplomat, she studied to become a pianist, but due to health issues had to shift her interest to composing. Hannikainen made her career mostly in Spain, where she lived with her teacher and life companion, the famous Spanish composer Ernesto Halffter.
